The Three A's

There are three A's I try to live by and I know it is not easy, Acknowledge, Accept and Acclimate. I believe the same things that knock us down are the very things that can build us up again. Every experience good or bad is a precise learning tool to a better you.

All you creative types out there, I know feel my pain on this one. Us artsy types can sure be moody at the best of times and boy, look out if it is not our better moments. I typically move forward with the best intentions as I believe most of us do. But living with a creative heart can present some obstacles at times, especially for the ones around us.

My biggest fear is acceptance and I go to great lengths to reach people in a positive way through my art. I know it is unrealistic to believe I can reach every single person since art is so subjective. However, there is still no sense in not trying. If it makes me smile I can only hope it will make a few others smile too. I prefer the old adage, if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all, but everyone is worthy of an opinion, so please never hesitate to be honest, I can only hope it serves to make me stronger.

I believe self discipline and keeping myself in check from time to time is key to keeping my creative flow alive. Life can sure throw some monkey wrenches in our program, but it is how we roll with the punches as to the outcome we ourselves ultimately define.

Whether you believe in fate, random acts or whatever, we can be our own worst enemy or the positive force that makes us strive. I'm the world's worse at moodiness and that is why I speak on such authority. I need to find balance and control. When things get chaotic I spiral down and tend to overlook the things that truly make me happy. Nothing is ever permanent, be it happy or sad moments, all things run in cycles, its our job to handle each cycle with style and grace.

Good, bad or indifferent if we had the ability to accept and behave in the same fashion no matter what is thrown our way, we have the ability to stand strong in the face of adversity the same way we absorb good will. No matter what comes our way we got it covered.

As I discussed before we live in a society riddled with frustrations and inconsiderate practices, but we need to start with ourselves and believe one person will make a difference. I'm only human and I know I have made countless mistakes along the way, I can only ask for forgiveness from those I have wronged, prayers for those who feel compelled to wrong others and courage to stand strong in my convictions.

Go on and seek your strength through whatever means, let go and let God so to speak. We're all in this together, might as well learn to get along. So the next time you are faced with turmoil, you have to believe nothing is permanent as long as you can acknowledge, accept and acclimate.
